Indulge in a Scottish adventure to Fort William on the west coast of the highlands. Basking on the shores of Loch Linnhe amid magnificent mountain scenery, Fort William has one of the most enviable settings in the whole of Scotland. The highlight of this holiday is a stunning rail journey to Mallaig on board The Jacobite steam train, regarded as one of the world’s greatest rail trips.

Day 1

Following collection from home, depart East Anglia and travel north arriving at the overnight hotel in time for dinner.


Day 2

Continue the journey through Southern Scotland, past Glasgow, alongside the shores of Loch Lomond and over rugged and desolate Rannoch Moor to arrive at the Alexandra Hotel for the four night dinner, bed and breakfast stay.

Day 3

All aboard the Jacobite Steam Train, regarded as one of the world's greatest rail trips, on a round trip of 84 miles to Mallaig and follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Express. From views of mighty Ben Nevis the memorable journey travels to Glenfinnan and over the famous 21 arch horse shoe viaduct, the picturesque silver sands of Morar to Mallaig, a busy fishing port and also departure point for the Isle of Skye. There is time to purchase lunch and take a look around the town before catching the return train to Fort William.

Day 4

It's a free day at leisure today. Fort William's setting is dramatic, on the shores of Loch Linnhe and under the mighty bulk of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. Perhaps visit the West Highland Museum, housing a large collection of Jacobite memorabilia.

Day 5

After breakfast, enjoy a visit to Inverness and Loch Ness with a chance to spot the area's most famous inhabitant 'Nessie'. After free time in the Highlands capital drive to the shores of Loch Ness to board a boat for a one hour circular cruise sailing on the deepest section of the loch with stunning views of the ruins of Urquhart Castle.

Day 6

Today, say goodbye to the Alexandra Hotel and travel south to the over night hotel in north of England in time for dinner.

Day 7

Depart the hotel after breakfast and continue the journey back to East Anglia where the door to door collection service will be waiting to return you home.
