Fjords, Mountains & Glaciers Cruise

Fjords, Mountains & Glaciers Cruise

With five days of this exceptional seven night Fred Olsen cruise spent in the breathtaking Norwegian fjordland, board Boudicca knowing you're in for a holiday packed with stunning sights and memorable experiences.

The scenic delights of a variety of picturesque fjords, natural wonders within reach of enchanting fjord villages and the attractions of Norway’s charming second city all await on this wonderful week away.

Marvel at extraordinary landscapes during mesmeric scenic cruising of Lysefjord; a feat only managed on smaller ships. Larger vessels are kept away by a bridge at the entrance of Lysefjord, so be sure to make the most of the opportunity to see majestic mountains, cliffs and rugged rock formations in all their glory as you sail the fjord’s glass-like waters.

There’s incredible scenic cruising on Nordfjord and by the Hornelen sea cliff to experience the following day too, but not until after the visit to one of the fjordland’s most picturesque villages, Olden. Set amongst postcard-perfect scenes of lush-green meadows, babbling brooks and magnificent mountains, Olden is a delight to explore. It’s also the gateway to the gorgeous Oldedalen Valley, the astonishing Briksdal and Kjenndalen glaciers and the pretty Lovatnet Lake.

Day 3

Cruise Lysefjord today which is a stunning example of the Norwegian fjords' spectacular natural beauty. Carved into the landscape by glacier movement in the Ice Age approximately 10,000 years ago, Lysefjord is lined by magnificent mountains and dramatic cliff faces - some soaring over 1,000 metres high into the unpolluted skies above.

B, D, L

Day 4

Early morning arrival in Olden. At its eastern end, the magnificent Nordfjord divides into three arms beneath the glaciers of the Jostedalsbreen and Olden sits at the beginning of the southernmost of these arms. A charming village, Olden is among green meadows, ablaze with colourful flowers throughout the summer and through which babbling brooks meander between pretty houses.

B, D, L

Day 5

Today's early morning arrival is in Flåm, a tiny village on the banks of the Aurlandsfjord and a branch of the spectacular Sognefjord - the longest and deepest fjord in Europe. Situated amongst scenes of picturesque orchards, hamlets, cottages and farmland, this is one of Norway's most breath-taking locations.

B, D, L

Day 6

The port this morning is Bergen, a city steeped in maritime heritage. Of Bergen's many attractions, the 900-year-old UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf is a delight to explore. Bryggen's cobbled stairways are lined with traditional half-timbered buildings and climb away from the waterfront, leading to curious open spaces, often overflowing with colourful flowers that perfume the air.
