Morning collection from home to join the coach for the drive to Folkestone and the Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. On arrival in Calais, continue through France, Belgium and Holland to the old milling City of Zaandam, once home to thousands of windmills, powering saws for wood for the shipbuilding and paper industries to board the MV Esmeralda. Enjoy a welcome cocktail while the luggage is taken to the cabins, with time to settle in before a four-course dinner this evening.D
After breakfast, board the coach and travel south to Keukenhof for the best day out among the flowers! Expect to witness up to 7 million bulbs in bloom, with a total of 800 varieties of tulips providing a unique and unforgettable springtime experience. Over 32 hectares of flowers along with many inspirational gardens make this a must-see excursion. Later drive to Amsterdam to meet the ship with time to explore before or after dinner.B, D
This morning, depart the ship for sightseeing time in Amsterdam, the Netherlands' capital city, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city's 17th Century Golden Age. Enjoy a canal cruise of this wonderful city before departing in the early afternoon for the bustling port of Hoorn, located on the shores of the Ijsselmeer and birthplace of the explorer Willem Schouten (who named the infamous Cape Hoorn after his home town). Explore the splendid 17th Century merchant houses and warehouses lining the waterfront and the huge variety of ships, boats and yachts in the harbour. Rejoin the ship in Hoorn and enjoy a leisurely evening meal on board.B, D
The ship makes an early start today. Enjoy a leisurely cruise sailing from Hoorn over the Ijssel Lake and on to Alkmaar. Take in the scenery and catch sight of the many bulb fields in the area before arriving in Alkmaar, known for its cheese making prowess and its impressive cathedral, the 15th Century Grote Kerk. Wander through pretty streets lining the canals, before enjoying a farewell dinner on board with the ship's Captain.B, D
After breakfast, leave the MV Esmeralda one last time. Your bags will be transferred to the coach to begin the return journey home where the door to door home collection service will be waiting to return you home.B
B=Breakfast Included, D=Evening Meal Included
